Dien Logeman-Van der Willigen was part of a group of cultural mediators active in the Dutch-speaking world around 1900. Together with her husband Henri Logeman, Marie Belpaire and Margaretha Meyboom, she formed the editorial team of two magazines aimed at promoting Scandinavian language, culture and literature: Scandia and Scandinavië-Nederland. Of the three women, Logeman-Van der Willigen was the most prolific translator. She translated 129 works from Norwegian, Danish, Swedish and also Finnish, including works by the Danish author Herman Bang, the Swede Verner von Heidenstam and the Finnish writer Johannes Linnankoski. Besides, she wrote various articles on Scandinavian literature, including Finnish and Swedish-language Finnish literature.
